Education and Universities Keynote Speaker

Before becoming an award-winning author and Hall of Fame keynote speaker, Joe spent ten years working full-time in higher education. With a Master’s degree in Education from Ohio University, he held student affairs roles in Residence Life, Health Education, New Student Orientation, Academic Support, and Fraternity and Sorority Life. These formative years in his career gave him firsthand insight into the realities of academic workplaces—supporting students, sustaining staff, and doing mission-driven work with limited resources.

Since then, Joe has spoken for education professionals and on campus across the country, including at the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Illinois Chicago, the University of Virginia, Emory University, and more, and he was recently invited to be a guest lecturer at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business.

Combining his education background with his expertise as an employee commitment expert, Joe’s programs equip faculty, administrators, and staff with research-based frameworks and practical strategies to improve retention and engagement, and build thriving cultures that support employees and enhance student success. His dynamic No More Team Drama keynote has been a popular choice in education, giving audiences new mindsets and practical skills for creating high-performing teams in environments where collaboration isn’t always easy.

Joe was an event planner’s dream. Amazing to work with and all I’m hearing from everyone is how great he was! He had the right balance of serious information with humor, fun, interaction, and emotion. He was really fabulous!
